Thomas Farley, of Astoria, was traveling north on Rocky Point/Yaphank Road in Rocky Point — about 75 miles from Manhattan — when he suddenly veered into the oncoming lanes and struck a tree about 8 a.m. He died at the scene.
Cops were investigating what led to the fatal crash.
